Strategic review for VC portfolio company, inflammatory diseases space
The client, a European VC, retained us to perform an independent strategic review of a portfolio
company in the inflammatory diseases space. The project involved prioritising investment options based
on potential returns from clinical stage programs, building an investment case to drive key programs to
value inflection, and developing a strategy to position the company for exit in 2-3 years. Going forward,
we are providing assistance with partnering and financing opportunities.
Strategic and market review for a device/ diagnostics company
We performed a market analysis and 5 year revenue forecasts for a company developing optical technology for diagnostics and for use in the security industry. The project included working closely with the executive management team, reviewing competitive offerings, producing 5 year forecasts, and refining the company's corporate strategy. Research findings were presented to the board and led to a refinement of the client's core focus. Going forward, these changes will form a key part of the company's story for its series B fundraising.
Infectious disease sector review, for UK Government
We undertook a comprehensive analytical review of UK companies within the infectious diseases space (private and public). This included identifying companies developing new anti-infective agents, companies developing detection technology and companies providing mass cleaning and disinfecting infrastructure. This information was presented in a report outlining UK resources available for biodefense applications.
Commercial analysis and modelling for a diagnostic test for cancer
We performed a due diligence and market analysis for a technology to diagnose bladder cancer. The client was a cancer focused technology transfer group. The project involved interviewing thought leaders in the space, and learning pricing and marketing strategies from competitor companies with similar products. We assisted the client in building a financial model for their business plan. The diagnostic technology has since been made available for out-licensing.
Series A investment due diligence, for top tier UK life sciences VC
We performed a due diligence (commercial and scientific) of a biotech firm for a top tier VC client, in the cardiovascular disease space. The client followed ATPBio's recommendation to decline the investment opportunity, based on poor intellectual property protection and advanced competition.
